Filipinas rise to No. 46 in FIFA rankings

The Philippine women’s national football team improved three places in the latest FIFA Women's world rankings ahead of its month-long camp in Australia for the upcoming World Cup.

The Filipinas jumped from No. 49 to 46 in the official rankings, overtaking Myanmar (No. 50) from the previous list in March and behind ASEAN powerhouse Australia (No. 10), Vietnam (No. 32)  and Thailand (No. 44)
This should serve as a confidence-booster for the Filipina players who are gearing up for the World Cup next month as they face higher ranked nations Norway (No. 12), Switzerland (No. 20), and host New Zealand (No. 26) in the group phase.
Recently, the team had a dismal showing in the 32nd Southeast Asian Games after failing to reach the semifinals in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. (
