The Caloocan City government launched a program that offered free laboratory testing for public school teachers in the city on Friday, June 9.
Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan said the laboratory testing will be available at the Caloocan City Medical Center (CCMC) and at the Caloocan City North Medical Center (CCNMC) starting Tuesday, June 13.
Mayor Along’s initiative aims to provide public school teachers additional services and accessible healthcare. The free laboratory testing was included in his healthcare program.
Laboratory tests will include complete blood count (CBC), urinalysis, and chest x-ray.
Over 1050 teachers in South Caloocan and 750 teachers in North Caloocan are expected to benefit from the program.
Dr. Fernando Santos, CCMC medical director and hospital administrator, expressed his gratitude to the city mayor.
Malapitan emphasized that the effort of the local government in healthcare is part of his goal to improve the quality of life of his constituents.
“Sinisiguro po natin na magpapatuloy pa ang ganitong mga programa ng pamahalaang lungsod. Lahat po ito ay para sa mas maginhawa at mas malusog na pamayanan para sa mga Batang Kankaloo, umpisa sa ating mga guro na labis ang pagsasakripisyo sa larangan ng pagtuturo, (We assure that such programs of the city government will continue. All of this is for a more comfortable and healthier community of Batang Kankaloo, starting with our teachers who sacrifice a lot in the field of teaching)” the mayor said.
