Bulacan cops obtain CCTV footage of ambush of Bulacan mayor’s consultant

Bulacan police have already obtained a closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage that could help solve the killing of a consultant of the mayor of San Rafael town last Monday, June 5, police provincial director Col. Relly B. Arnedo said on Thursday, June 8.

Based on the initial police investigation last Monday, Col. Arnendo said that the victim, Johne Emerson A. Parfan, consultant of San Rafael Mayor Mark Cholo Violago, was driving his Toyota Avanza with his wife on way to San Rafael Municipal Hall when  two motorcycle-riding men suddenly came beside them and shot him closely several times.

The unidentified suspects fled to unknown direction, while bystanders nearby immediately rushed the victim to the nearest hospital. He was declared dead on arrival due to bullet wounds in the shoulder and neck. His wife was not hurt.

Col. Arnedo said they have yet to identify the suspects, but based on the CCTV footage in the area, Parfan was shot closely by the two motorcycle-riding armed men who were not wearing helmets .

"Nakita naman doon sa CCTV ang mga suspek, clear 'yong mga pictures, siguro mapi-pinpoint natin at ma-identify natin as early as now, siguro kahit hindi na kami mag-create ng special investigation task group (SITG) dahil kitang kita naman sa CCTV 'yong bumaril," ( Suspects were seen on CCTV, pictures are clear, maybe we could pinpoint and identify them as early as now even without creating an special investigation task group (SITG) because the gunman can be seen clearly in the CCTV)," Col. Arnedo said.

Meanwhile, Lt. Col. Isagani V. Enriquez, San Rafael town police chief, said they are now investigating and gathering some information from San Rafael municipal employees.

As of this writing, Mayor Violago has yet to release any statement about the killing of his consultant and employee but ordered the San Rafael police to dig deeper into the killing of Parfan.

Parfan’s family, relatives, and friends, particularly the residents of Barangay Tambubong, San Rafael headed by Barangay Captain Allan Pantaleon, and the whole council of the Sangguniang Kabataan are calling for justice for his death.

They described Parfan as a good citizen who always helps whenever there's a project in the village.
