Four individuals sustained minor injuries in a fire incident at a commissary located at Gil Fernando Avenue, Marcos Highway in Marikina City early Friday morning, June 9.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) identified the injured as Albert Martinez, 35; Marco Abaroso, 25; Jael Santos, 28; and Catalino Martinez, 35.
Martinez and Abaroso sustained burns on both of their arms, while Santos had burns on his knee and face, and Martinez sustained red marks on his knees.
The victims were given immediate medical treatment.
The affected individuals were night shift employees of the company that was implementing 24-hour work operations, according to the company's operations manager as relayed to the BFP.
The fire was raised to the first alarm at 5:15 a.m. but was swiftly extinguished at 5:19 a.m. upon the arrival of the probers from the BFP.
As of this writing, the BFP has not specified the type of commissary involved in the incident.
No fatalities were reported.
The BFP's investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
