We might be experiencing a few rains here and there in the country but summer style is still at its peak. The latest to heat up the season’s fashion game locally is luxury label Loewe as it brings to the Philippines its latest “Paula’s Ibiza” collection.
As the name suggests, the 2023 line features pieces that are imbued with the creative concepts of the Spanish island Ibiza. It invites everyone to wear and experience a sense of island life whether they are out on a local exotic destination or exploring the urban jungle.
For the season, creative director Jonathan Anderson explores the many elements that make Ibiza’s vibrant lifestyle, from the colors and culture to its vibrant music and tourism scenes. The result is a collection that is laid-back and imaginative with pieces Filipinos can wear all year round.
During the launch of the collection, Manila Bulletin Lifestyle got a chance to see the pieces up close and learn more about their designs. Below are some of our favorite pieces from Loewe’s “Paula’s Ibiza” collection.

New and vintage blooms
Florals are always summertime, if not, travel style staples. For the collection, the luxury label reimagines its archival floral prints into contemporary wear. Its white and orange rose prints become the central material of its co-ord pieces. While its cropped cardigan in viscose with roses of red and blush would go well over a swimsuit or paired with high-waisted denim pants.

Marine madness
Loewe also dives deep into the submerged beauty of the island. To mimic its marine wonders, the collection features denim pieces with a charming under-the-sea print. The same prints can also be seen on denim bags.

Woven wonders
Woven raffia and Iraca palm are the protagonists of the accessories, with the Iraca baskets and Loewe Font tote. Our top picks include the Slit bag and Balloon Ruffles bag both in raffia and calfskin. The Slit bag is a versatile tote perfect for any occasion and travel while the latter looks more romantic with its layered frills.

For the gents
The floral and aquatic prints are also echoed in men’s pieces. But for something classic, a fool-proof pick would be the bowling shirt in linen, which comes in a variety of colors that include the brand’s signature orange. The shirt is simply decorated with the iconic Loewe anagram. The perfect finishing touch for the gents is the collection’s Flow runner in nylon and calfskin, a pair of lace-up sneakers that could easily fit any resort wear or city style.
