"There is learning in losing."
That's what Vice President Sara Duterte said at the opening of the annual Office of the Vice President (OVP) sportquaters at their headquarters in Mandaluyong City.
The three-day OVP Sportsfest aims "to promote camaraderie and a sense of belongingness among the employees, the value of teamwork and the ability to work well with each other, promote a healthy lifestyle and create health awareness," according to Duterte's office.

Duterte said great lessons await those who will not win in the competitions.
“Para kanino ba talaga ang isang sports fest? So naisip ko na ang sports fest ay para sa mga matatalo. Ano ba’ng makukuha ng winner? They get the prizes, they get the accolades, they get the happiness. But what lessons did you learn kung nanalo ka?” she asked.
She said losing gives people a chance to reflect on their game, which allows them to improve and become better players in the future.
“Sa Binisaya pa, “pildi is pildi” (losing is losing). (But) you will be thinking about how to improve yourselves and become winners next year,” she said.
