Taguig LGU continues to investigate food poisoning incident
The Taguig City government continued the investigation on the food poisoning incident in Barangay Upper Bicutan on June 6, which affected 45 people.
A food stall is suspected of causing the food poisoning and was ordered closed by the City Health Office while the investigation is ongoing.

[One netizen posted on Facebook that his fiancee and son were among the victims](https://mb.com.ph/2023/6/7/food-poisoning-downs-more-than-40-people-in-taguig) of the food poisoning after eating “pastil” at a food stall on Valdez Street.
According to the city government, 45 victims of the food poisoning were recorded. A total of 16 were taken to the Taguig-Pateros District Hospital including four who were discharged; seven were confined in different health facilities including three who were discharged; and 22 were sent home after getting treated at the incident command post established on A. Bonifacio Avenue, Phase 5 in Upper Bicutan.
The City Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance Unit (CEDSU) under the City Health Office is conducting the investigation to know the cause of the food poisoning.
"We conducted food traceback and an environmental survey to assess sanitation standards. We will discuss our findings with our City Health Office for recommendation and action," said CEDSU head Dr. Jun Sy.
Food samples will be sent for testing to an agency that will be recommended by the Department of Health.
The city’s sanitation team got water samples from the house of the food vendor, patients who experienced food poisoning symptoms, “talipapa” and those near a school in the barangay. The samples were sent for microbiological testing.
The city medical team also visited the victims who were sent home to check on their conditions.
