Santuario de La Salle wins architecture award for religious buildings, memorials
The Santuario de La Salle in Laguna topped the prestigious 2023 Architizer A+ Awards for religious buildings and memorials.
The official student publication of De La Salle University, "The La Sallian," tweeted on June 1 that the religious sanctuary bested other religious buildings and memorials across the world.
The winners were announced on Architizer’s official website, which recognizes the greatest architecture and spaces from around the world.

The Santuario de La Salle was built on the grounds of De La Salle University in Biñan City with the help of Carlos Arnaiz Architects, a New York-based design firm and urban consultant who designed the architectural vision for the religious sanctuary.
In the midst of a bustling university campus, the sanctuary allows people to connect with their personal faith, religious community, and nature.
It weaves together culture and ecology, giving congregants a new perspective on spiritual inclusiveness.
It is also intended to be a pilgrimage site for teachers and a repository for the Founder's relic.
The Santuario de La Salle structure is the world’s first church built in honor of Saint John Baptist de La Salle, the Catholic saint and patron saint of youth educators, as well as the founder of the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools.
This year's edition is the 12th annual A+Awards, which will be held in October 2023, according to Architizer. (Rhowen Del Rosario)
