Over P170,000 worth of shabu, marijuana seized in two Pasig buy-bust ops
Operatives from the Eastern Police District (EPD) and Pasig City Police Station (CPS) seized a total of P179, 600 worth of alleged shabu and marijuana from two male suspects during separate buy-bust operations in Pasig City on Monday, June 5, and Tuesday, June 6.
On June 5, members of the Pasig CPS apprehended the suspect identified as “Evan,” 20, a construction worker, during the drug bust operation at Bernal Street, Barangay Ugong, Pasig City.
The Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) conducted surveillance activities of the suspect prior to the operation done at 11:15 p.m.
Police confiscated nine sachets containing 80 grams of suspected marijuana, with a standard drug price of P9,600, from the suspect.
Additional recovered items included a P1,000 bill used as buy-bust money.
Meanwhile, a 19-year-old man, identified as “Rod,” was arrested by District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) officers of the EPD at 1 a.m. at the Pasig Mega Market, after days of surveilling the suspect.
Two sachets of suspected shabu, weighing around 25 grams and worth P170,000, was recovered from the suspect.
Both suspects were detained at the Pasig CPS custodial facility.
They are facing charges for the sale and possession of illegal drugs, as indicated in Sections 5 and 11 of the Republic Act No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
“[The EPD] will continuously enhance our maximum police operations on the ground to combat such lawlessness and ensure that those Law violators will be dealt with accordingly,” said EPD District Director Brig. Gen. Wilson Asueta.
“Pasig CPS will not waver in our campaign against illegal drugs and all forms of criminality within the area of responsibility and we will keep on conducting similar police operations towards a peaceful and progressive Pasig City," said Pasig Police Chief Col. Celerino Sacro Jr.
