Fishing boat “Ron Kirby 4” was anchored at the vicinity waters of Cabra Island while its crew were engaged in fishing when it was hit by the unknown vessel around 4:15 a.m., the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said.

“This resulted to the damage of the outrigger of the said fishing vessel,” the PCG said.

Search and rescue personnel were deployed in the area to save the crew.

“All the forty crewmembers of the fishing vessel were rescued and in good physical condition,” the PCG noted.

The rescued crew were brought to Calatagan Port in Batangas onboard BRP Bagacay.

Meanwhile, the PCG coordinated with the Philippine National Police (PNP) to look for the vessel that bumped the fishing boat.
