The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday afternoon, June 5, said a total of 9,107 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in the past week.

In its bulletin, DOH said the country saw an average of 1,301 new Covid-19 infections per day in the past week. This is 22 percent lower compared to the figures recorded from May 22 until May 28, 2023. Of the new cases, 77 are under severe and critical conditions while 10 have died, of which three were recorded from May 22 until June 4. "Pinapaalalahanan ang lahat na huwag maging kampante sa banta ng Covid-19. Dapat natin[g] ipagpatuloy ang tamang pagsunod sa minimum public health standards sa ilalim ng Alert Level 1 (We are reminding everyone not to be complacent about the threat of Covid-19. We should continue adhering to minimum public health standards under Alert Level 1)," DOH stressed. As of Sunday, June 4, a total of 559 patients with severe and critical Covid-19 conditions are admitted in the hospital. Â Meanwhile, out of the 2,099 ICU beds for patients with COVID-19, at least 397 or 18.9 percent are occupied.
