“I am delighted to share that the Danao City Skatepark is free and open to everyone, embracing all walks of life, not just limited to our fellow Danawanons. This skate park represents a place of unity and inclusivity, where individuals can come together, build lasting friendships, and showcase incredible skills,” said Danao Mayor Thomas Mark Durano. Durano was joined by other city officials, community members, and hundreds of skateboarding enthusiasts from across the region during the opening. Cebuano skateboarding champions Motic Panugalinog and Renz Gelig graced the event and entertained the crowd with skate demonstrations. Apart from the skateboard, Durano more is in store for the youth and residents of the city, especially in facilities and programs that promote an active and healthy lifestyle. After the opening of the skatepark, the city also held the groundbreaking ceremony for the Children and Youth Resource Center. The facility will provide comprehensive support and educational programs. “The Danao City Skatepark and the Children and Youth Resource Center showcase the city's dedication to youth empowerment and community development,” said Durano.
