The seven-day positivity rate of Covid-19 in Metro Manila fell to 16.8 percent on June 3, from 21.7 percent on May 27, the OCTA Research said on Monday, June 5.

Positivity rate refers to the number of individuals who yielded positive results from those who were tested for Covid-19. David added that the seven-day positivity rates in Bulacan, La Union, Rizal, and Tarlac were also moderate. “Positivity rates are now decreasing in most of Luzon,” he pointed out. The benchmark for the positivity rate set by the World Health Organization is 5 percent. On June 4, the Department of Health reported 1,272 new Covid-19 cases across the country, of which 360 cases were recorded in Metro Manila. David projected that the country may record 1,000 to 1,200 new Covid-19 cases on June 5. He said the country’s current positivity rate is 18.1 percent, down slightly from 18.6 percent on June 3.
