DDB leads drug abuse prevention training for Cotabato ethnic, high risk groups

The Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) has conducted a training program in Cotabato to spare the indigenous people (IP) and other at-risk population from illegal drug abuse and similar nefarious activities.
DDB Deputy Executive Director for Operations Assistant Secretary Maria Belen Angelita V. Matibag led the resource persons in administering the “Drug Abuse Prevention Education for the At-Risk Population and Indigenous People’’ in Kidapawan City.
“The seminar is a joint effort among the DDB, the local government of Kidapawan City, and the Department of Education Region 12 which aims to provide appropriate knowledge and information on the prevention of drug use for the marginalized population,’’ the DDB stated.
A total of 50 participants from the indigenous Alternative Learning System (ALS) learners and National Drug Education Program (NDEP) coordinators attended the training.
Earlier, the DDB also conducted a “Life Skills Enhancement on Drug Abuse Prevention Education in Sorsogon.
The DDB noted that the training is the most requested activity received by its Preventive Education, Training, and Information Division (PETID).
