Cops identify 2nd suspect in Calapan City journalist's killing, charges now being readied

Police investigators have identified the second suspect in the killing of broadcast journalist Cresenciano Aldovino Bunduquin who was gunned down in front of a store in Calapan City last week.

Gen. Benjamin Acorda, Jr., chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), said the local police are now preparing criminal charges against the second suspect, adding that police have strong pieces of evidence.

“”It’s ready for filing, the second suspect was already identified. We will provide the name once the case is filed,” said Acorda.

Bunduquin, commentator for dwXR 101.7 Kalahi FM MUX Online Radio, died after he was shot by two motorcycle-riding gunmen on May 31 in Barangay Sta. Isabel.

The driver of the motorcycle died in a road crash after they were chased by Bunduquin son.

Acorda, however, would not reveal the motive behind the killing of Bunduquin, saying this is still being pursued by police investigators.

He said follow-up operations are now being conducted by the police to arrest the second suspect.
