At WWDC, Apple showed what their plans are for Mac devices. This includes a 15-inch variant of the MacBook Air, while desktop devices get more powerful chips running inside them.
We’ve been so used to a 13-inch MacBook Air, it’s wild to think we’re getting a 15-inch variant. Apple says it’s going to weigh at three pounds, has 500 nits of brightness, 1080p webcam, and 18 hours of battery life. No new info about the MacBook Pro though. So we’ll probably hear more about that in a couple of months from now when Apple introduces their M3 chip.
Both the Mac Studio and Mac Pro are getting upgraded with Apple’s powerful chips. The Mac Studio, which Apple bills as a “performance powerhouse” – and we’re not contesting that – will receive options for an M2 Max or M2 Ultra. The Mac Pro on the other hand will only have the M2 Ultra, and six PCIe Gen 4 slots, eight Thunderbolt ports, two USB A ports, two 10Gb Ethernet ports, two HDMI ports, one SD card slot, and a headphone jack.
