4.3-magnitude quake hits Davao Oriental — Phivolcs


A magnitude 4.3 earthquake hit Davao Oriental around 6:30 p.m. on Monday, June 5, said the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

Phivolcs said the tremor occurred at a depth of 127 kilometers (km) and was located 111 km southeast of Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental.

It noted that the quake was due to the sudden movement of the earth’s crust or tectonic in origin.

However, Phivolcs expected “no aftershock” and “no damages” due to this earthquake. (Sonny Daanoy)
