3 menstrual period myths, debunked
An OB-Gyne sheds light to these beliefs
The human body is full of wonders that scientists are still discovering. But despite scientific studies being conducted with continued progress in technological innovation regarding healthcare, there are still myths revolving around human health. And one of those aspects is women’s monthly period. Myths about it are still being passed on from one generation to another.
Women are encouraged to exercise during the menstrual period, for it will help in releasing happy hormones.
At the GynePro’s event where the brand celebrated World Menstrual Health Month last May 2023, Dr. Mitch Dado, an OB-GYNE, debunked three period myths.

Apart from debunking these myths, Dr. Mitch also explains that during a menstrual period, women are more prone to infection. Thus proper hygiene is a must. “It’s not true that you cannot take a bath,” she says. “There's hormonal changes and vaginal echo system changes too, from basic to acidic. This makes us prone to infection. And then you can also have itch and irritation because of the presence of the blood but you don't have to be scared about this. You just need to take control of this. And what better way to take control of this than by using a product that will actually protect you against all these things.” She then recommends using a feminine wash that is safe to use like GynePro, drinking plenty of water, and doing regular exercise.
