Marcos said this after opening two museums under the Malacañang Heritage Tours for free this week.

In his recent vlog, the President said learning about the country's history would allow the people to learn from the past.

"Napakahalaga ang tayo ay alam natin ang kasaysayan ng Pilipino eh para naman matuto tayo na yung mga pagkakamali na ating dating ginawa ay 'wag na nating ulitin (It's important that we know our people's history so we would learn from our mistakes in the past and not repeat them)," he said.

"Yung mga magaganda na nagawa nung nakaraan ay dapat nating ulitin (We should replicate the good things we did in the past)," he added.

Marcos also said that learning the country's history would expand one's understanding of what it is to be a Filipino.

"Ito'y nagdadagdag sa sagot pagka tinatanong ano ba ang Pilipino (This can add to the answer when someone asks us what is a Filipino)," he said.

In a statement, the Palace said the Malacañang Heritage Tours provide a unique opportunity for individuals seeking a deeper appreciation for the remarkable past and distinguished leaders of the Philippines.

"It stands as a must-see attraction, offering an engaging and enlightening experience that delves into the rich tapestry of Philippine history," it said.

The guided tours opened on June 1 and are available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for free, but visitors must make a reservation first.

Last month, Marcos issued Executive Order (EO) No. 26 creating an advisory board and management center to efficiently manage Malacañang Heritage Mansions. He cited the need to maintain, preserve, and utilize the properties in recognition of their potential to promote the country's history and culture.
