Marcos appoints new envoy to Nigeria, other officials


President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has appointed new officials in several government agencies, including a new ambassador to Nigeria.

Marcos named Mersole Mellejor as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Nigeria, with concurrent jurisdiction over the Republic of Benin, Burkina Faso, the Republic of Cameroon, among others.

The President also designated Raquel Solano as ad interim Chief of Mission, Class II, at the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

According to the list issued by the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), Marcos also appointed three assistant secretaries namely: Napoleon Juanillo Jr. at the Department of Science and Technology (DOST); and Josef Angelo Martires and Ubaldo Sadiarin Jr. at the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR).

The chief executive likewise tapped Analisa Puod as acting General Manager and Member, representing the Private Sector and Broadcast Industry, Board of Directors under PCO's People's Television Network, Inc.

He also designated Allan Vincent Lorenzo as Assistant Director-General (Director IV) at the Philippine Information Agency (PIA).

He appointed Joshua Bingcang as acting President and Chief Executive Officer and Member, Board of Directors at the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA).

Other appointees were: Roy Echeverria as Vice Admiral at the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Rhouan Loseriaga as member representing the private sector at the Toll Regulatory Board, Bernadette Dan Juan as Director IV at the Department of Agriculture (DA), Fidel Libao as Director III also at DA, and Joell H. Lales as Director III at the Bureau of Agriculture Research.
