In its bulletin, Phivolcs mentioned that the tremor was detected 14 km northwest of San Agustin, Surigao Del Sur at 11:27 a.m.

Although the tremor had a shallow depth of focus of 17 km, Phivolcs expected “no damages” and “no aftershocks.”

Phivolcs also mentioned that the earthquake was tectonic in origin, indicating that it was caused by the sudden movement of the earth’s crust. (Sonny Daanoy)
