Female gov't employee shot dead in Zamboanga Sibugay

ZAMBOANGA CITY – A female employee of the local government of Naga municipality in Zamboanga Sibugay province was shot dead by a still unidentified assailant in RT Lim municipality, Zamboanga Sibugay on Saturday, June 3. Police Major Shellamie Chang, Police Regional Office-9 information officer, identified the victim as 23-year-old Charlene Joy dela Cruz, a resident of Tungawan municipality. Chang said Dela Cruz was on board her motorcycle when she was tailed by the suspect on board another motorcycle. Upon reaching Purok Tandang Sora in Barangay Tupilac, the suspect shot Dela Cruz in the head. Dela Cruz was brought to the RT Lim Family Hospital where she was declared dead on arrival. Police are investigating the motive behind the gun attack and are conducting pursuit operations against the suspect.
