SURIGAO CITY – The Police Regional Office-13 has deployed almost 300 rookie policemen for field training in three city police offices in the Caraga region.
TWO-hundred ninety-seven rookie policemen have been deployed to various police stations in the Caraga region. (Mike U. Crismundo) The PRO-13 Regional Learning and Doctrine Development Division said 218 males and 79 females from the Public Safety Basic Recruit Course (PSBRC) Class 2022-01 will be distributed to Butuan, Surigao, and Cabadbaran cities. Fifty-eight patrolmen and patrolwomen will be deployed to the Butuan City Police Station (BCPS) 1, 30 to BCPS 2, 30 to BCPS 3, 30 to BCPS 4, 30 to Cabadbaran City Police Station, and 119 to Surigao City Police Station. Eighty field training officers have been detailed to closely supervise, guide, and teach the newly appointed Police Non-Commissioned Officers (NAPNCOs) in the region. Eight FTOs shall be assigned to one dormitory. “They will have on-the-job training on patrol, traffic, and investigation under the supervision of their respective Field Training Officers (FTOs) for six months,” PRO 13 Regional Director Police Brig. Gen. Pablo G. Labra II said. “At the end of the training, they will be equipped with the skills and capabilities that will eventually make them police officers of the highest caliber,” Labra said. “We will monitor them to ensure we have a generation of PNP personnel who are more disciplined,” Labra added. The NAPNCOs completed their basic recruit course on May 27 and underwent a five-day orientation program. A send-off ceremony was held at the Regional Training Center-13 (RTC-13) in Barangay Lipata here. PRO-13 Deputy Regional Director for Administration and chairman of the Regional Training Committee Police Brig. Gen. Roderick D. Mariano attended the ceremony with Police Lt. Col. Rhandy O. Amaro, officer-in-charge of the RLDDD-13.
