Zamboanga City’s third super health center breaks ground


ZAMBOANGA CITY – The third super health center here broke ground on Friday morning, June 30, in Sitio Aplaya, Barangay Manicahan.

The super health center will serve as a primary health care facility offering the following services: X-ray, dental, birthing facilities, pharmacy, ultrasound, emergency, and laboratory.

The center costs P11.4 million and is expected to be completed by January 2024.

Zamboanga City Mayor John Dalipe thanked Sen. Bong Go, the office of Zamboanga City Rep. Mannix Dalipe, and the Department of Health for the construction of the facility that will serve constituents living in far-flung barangays.

In his video message, Go said the super health centers serve as the fulfillment of a promise made by the national government to provide services to those who need more help and assistance.

The groundbreaking ceremonies were attended by Mayor Dalipe, Vice Mayor Josephine Pareja, DOH-Zamboanga Peninsula Regional Assistant Director Lenny Joy Rivera, City Health Officer Dr. Dulce Miravite, city Police Director Police Col. Alexander Lorenzo, and health and barangay officials.

The first super health center in Zamboanga City was completed in Barangay Sangali while the construction of the second one in Barangay Talon Talon is under way.
