Vendor shot dead by minor in Tondo

A vendor died after being shot by a 17-year-old boy in Tondo, Manila on Tuesday night, June 27.

The Manila Police District (MPD) Raxabago Station identified the victim as Rolando Francisco, 33, a resident of Maharlika Street, Tondo.

Based on the initial investigation, the victim was having a conversation with someone on his cellphone at the corner of Dandan and Osmeña Streets in Barangay 117 when the minor suddenly appeared and fired several shots at him.

The vendor suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to the nearest hospital. He was declared dead-on-arrival at 12:25 a.m. Wednesday, June 28.

Members of Don Bosco Police Community Precinct (PCP) led by Maj. Paul Benjamin Mandane immediately conducted a follow-up operation.

Through the help of witnesses, police operatives arrested the suspect in his house in Barangay 108, Tondo.

Recovered from the suspect was a 9mm Armscor pistol.

Prior to the killing, the suspect tried to redeem the watch that he pawned to the victim, but the latter refused to return the item, according to the police.
