BACOLOD CITY – A father and his son voluntarily surrendered to the police here on Thursday, June 29, a day after they were accused of killing their relative in Dumangas, Iloilo on Wednesday, June 28.

Noel Aliño, acting Bacolod City police director, said that Jesus Dipus Jr., 63, of Barangay Pagdugue, Dumangas, surrendered to authorities around noontime. Later that night, Dipus’ son, Jesus Philip, also turned himself in to the police, according to Aliño. Suspects were reportedly seen leaving the house of 23-year-old Cezar Dipus Jr. after two gunshots were heard from the victim’s house in Barangay Pagdugue on Wednesday morning, based on police investigation. The victim, who was a former seafarer, sustained a bullet wound in the neck with an exit wound in the right shoulder, according to the police. Police recovered from the crime scene two deformed fired bullets of an unknown firearm. Aliño said the two suspects travelled here from Iloilo reportedly to hide at their relatives’ house here after the incident. He said the two suspects were turned over to the custody of the Iloilo police on Thursday night.
