Mayor Along urges residents to become city veterinarians
Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan encouraged residents to become city veterinarians as the local government opened a new animal pound in Barangay 178, Camarin on Thursday, June 29.
The city government said that the animal pound aims to prevent the spread of animal-to-animal or animal human diseases and to keep and take care of rescued stray animals like cats and dogs.
It features different facilities including veterinary room, treatment rooms, and suitable living spaces for rescues and strays.
I am happy because we have come to a time when we have a city pound because it will help our communities a lot. Let's slowly arrange what other necessary items and services are needed for this),” the mayor said.
Baka mayroong beterinaryo rito, mag-apply na po kayo sa Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Caloocan (Hopefully we will come to a time when services such as castration can be adjusted, which is why we really need more vets. If ever there is a veterinarian here, please apply to the Caloocan City Government),” Malapitan added.

Malapitan also vowed to make the city safer for pets and pet-owners alike and reminded everyone to be responsible for their animals
He also advised those who want to adopt or help rescued pets to coordinate with the city’s animal pound.
