BUTUAN CITY – The Department of Interior and Local Government is all set for the launching of the “Buhay Ingatan, Droga’y Ayawan” program here on Saturday, July 1.
ABALOS (DILG FB) The event will be led by DILG Secretary Benhur Abalos along with Agusan del Norte Gov. Maria Angelica Rosedell Amante and Police Regional Office-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Pablo G. Labra II. They are expected to deliver messages of support for the program. As the lead government agency, the DILG-Caraga will spearhead a BIDA Fun Run on July 1 at 4 a.m. from the Butuan City Sports Complex to the Agusan del Norte Provincial Capitol Covered Court here. The BIDA program will then follow at Dottie’s Place Hotel, Butuan City, where Butuan City Mayor Ronnie Vicente C. Lagnada will give the opening message. A BIDA Serbisyo Caravan (service caravan) will be held inside the function area of the hotel. The governors and mayors of Agusan del Norte and dignitaries will have a luncheon meeting with Abalos and they will be interviewed by the media at the venue. The groundbreaking ceremony of the central police station in Barangay Villa Kananga, this city, will also be held, witnessed by Caraga officials, heads of government agencies, other representatives, and visitors. During the program, Abalos and Caraga officials will award winners of the short film and creative painting competitions. Participating sectors and officials will sign a Memorandum of Understanding and the unity statement on the BIDA program, an intensified and more holistic campaign against illegal drugs to reduce drug demand in the communities.
