European embassies in the Philippines have launched the Euro Village in Pasig City, where Western delights, souvenirs and other related activities can be enjoyed.
The Euro Village at the Capitol Commons Park will be open until Sunday, June 4, where European delicacies, such as Belgian waffles, crépes, flammekueche, pasta, cheese, chewy stroopwafel, profeertjes and a wide range of beer and juices, are being offered.
The village will also offer snap European language courses from the Alliance Française de Manille, Goethe Institut, Instituto Cervantes Manila and the Philippine-Italian Association.
The village was inaugurated on Saturday by European Union Ambassador to the Philippines Luc Veron as well as Ambassadors Michel Parys of Belgium, Jana Sediva of Czech Republic, Titanilla Toth of Hungary, Marielle Geraedts, Chargé d'Affaires, ad interim of The Netherlands and Jaroslaw Szczepankiewicz of Poland.

It is open to the public for free from 4pm to 12 midnight. "The Euro Village offers an exciting and dynamic sample of European Union culture, arts, music, food and gastronomy, products, crafts, languages, sports – all in two days and in one hub," the communications team of the European Union in the Philippines said.

"You can find the best novelties from Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Hungary, the Netherlands, Austria, Romania, Poland and Finland.  In solidarity with Ukraine in these dire hours, Euro Village will also feature Ukrainian participation," it added.
