Van plunges into ravine in Quirino; 1 killed, 11 injured

NAGTIPUNAN, Quirino â€“ A 32-year-old man died and 11 were injured after the L300 van they were riding in plunged into a ravine in Purok 3, Barangay Keat, this town, on Wednesday afternoon, June 28. Police identified the victim as Chanler Dalos of Barangay Macabenga, Dupax del Norte, Nueva Vizcaya. The Police Regional Office-2 said the victims were on their way to Keat Falls in Nagtipunan for a family gathering. The vehicle with license plates ABJ-3476 driven by Jay-ar Plamo lost its brakes upon reaching a curved part of the road and fell into a ravine. Plamo was injured along with passengers Dalos, Yolanda Arsenio, Angelica Rose Arsenio, Leden L. Cab-Ad, Devorah O. Arsenio, Mildred P. Arsenio, Glen Arsenio, Charmine Tayan, Zarich Kate Danao, Christine Arsenio, and a minor. The injured were taken to the Dupax del Sur District Hospital. Dalos was declared dead on arrival at the hospital. Keat is the farthest barangay in Nagtipunan where mobile phone signal is difficult.
