TECNO launches POVA 5 Free Fire Edition

As part of their campaign to show the POVA 5 phone is one of the top choices for mobile gaming, TECNO has recently launched the Free Fire Edition.

On the surface, the POVA 5 Free Fire Edition comes in with a cool triangular-shaped box with Free Fire character Kelly at the forefront. The box opens up to reveal a stylish POVA 5 with sci-fi lines running around it.

Fire up the POVA 5 and you’re greeted with more Free Fire goodies, such as Free Fire character posters for wallpapers. Some apps have this rugged design to further make the POVA 5 stand out. Ironically, the Free Fire game itself doesn’t come pre-installed.

And that’s fine, I think, because even if you’re not a Free Fire fan, the design of the POVA 5 itself is striking on its own. Not to mention under the hood, if you aren’t familiar with the specs sheet, the POVA 5 boasts an impressive set of internals.

The TECNO POVA 5 has a 6.78-inch FHD+ display with 120Hz refresh rate. It’s powered with a Helio G99 processor, which is more than enough to play most of the popular mobile games out there, including Free Fire. From the days I’ve been holding on to the review unit sent to us, Free Fire played extremely smoothly and was highly responsive.

To complement the G99 processor is an eye-raising 6000mAh battery. It’s large enough to let you play and watch for hours and hours, and still have more than enough to last you until the next morning. But a bigger mAh also means more time is needed to charge. But no worries there as the POVA 5 comes with a 45W smart charge, which should fill up that 6000mAh sooner than expected.

Storage is set at 256GB, which you can borrow from to double the 8GB RAM for an improved performance. Quite interesting, is that the TECNO POVA 5 comes with a headphone jack, which is something that is growing less and less common these days. Bluetooth headsets are great and all, but some of us still have our old wired earpieces we hold so dear.

The TECNO POVA 5 comes with two rear 50MP cameras. The images they produced are impressive and satisfying, which is something that should be expected. These days smartphone cameras have consistently gotten better and better. We’re not saying some smartphone cameras have peaked yet, but with new processors and software engineering, a touch of AI, and the overall technology becoming more affordable as time goes by, photography has greatly been simplified.

The TECNO POVA 5 Free Fire Edition comes with a couple of cool stickers.

If you want to stream using the POVA 5, this smartphone is more than capable of handling the content you plan to develop. It looks great and performs well. The TECNO POVA 5 gets our seal of approval. But as usual, don’t just take our word for it, go and check out the device for yourself and experience it.

To sweeten the deal, people who grab the Free Fire edition of the POVA 5 will get a gift card for additional goodies.
