Taguig mayor turns over vehicles, equipment to PNP, BFP to mark first year in office 


Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano marked her first year in office by giving vehicles and equipment to government agencies and by inaugurating a multi-purpose building in a barangay. 

The vehicles and equipment worth P90 million were given to the Taguig police, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Taguig, and barangays on June 28.

The vehicles, totaling 70, are mobile patrol cars, multi-purpose vehicles, motorcycles, custodial van, fire trucks, ambulances, and firefighting tricycles while the equipment consisted of firearms, body cameras and recording devices. 

“The population of our city is growing and the development, our progress, continues,” said Cayetano. 

Also present during the turnover ceremony were Southern Police District Director Brig. Gen. Kirby John Kraft, Taguig police chief Col. Robert Baesa, Supt. Eddie Tanawan of BFP-Taguig, Rep. Ricardo Cruz Jr., Vice Mayor Arvin Ian Alit, councilors and barangay captains. 

In addition, Cayetano inaugurated a multi-purpose building in Barangay Wawa, which was funded by then House Speaker and now Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano. 

The three-storey building will serve as a venue for activities and services for the community and  features a mini library, e-library, offices for senior citizens and persons with disabilities, and a child development center.

The second floor has the barangay offices and the Sangguniang Kabataan office and the third floor has the playing court and control room.
