STYLE IN THE SUMMER Kiko Mizuhara rocks the Sunnies look for her summer snaps

Summer season here feels like it never leaves, an endless summer for you and me, and everyone else, and who better to spend it with than everyone’s favorite girl, Kiko Mizuhara?

Unlike the universally adored Kiko, summer is, more or less, a season people love and hate. The scorching sun on your skin and the uncontrollable sweating make everyone want to just turn on their AC and fans at the same time. Simultaneously, it’s the season where everyone goes to their favorite destination, the beach, even when it starts raining. Nothing makes us enjoy the heat more than a pair of shorts, a tank top, the sexiest bikini, and a hell of a lot of sunscreen. What else have we forgotten? Ahh, sunglasses—everyone’s favorite summer accessory in different frames and flashy lenses, and we have Sunnies to thank for that.

Some love it for its fun style and the edge it gives to its wearers. Some love it for its function while others use it to hide emotions they deem only worthy for close people to see. However you use it, there will always be an excessive amount of these stylish eyewear for any and all occasions, and one brand has it all—Sunnies Studios.

Sunnies, one of the Philippines’ top leading sunglass and optical brands, brings number one It Girl, Kiko Mizuhara, with them. Or it may be the other way around.
The campaign, photographed by Kiko’s close friend Monika Mogi, takes us to Japan’s southernmost region, Miyako. It’s a place located below Okinawa, considered to be one of the country’s most beautiful spots to travel. Reminiscent of our own country and Hawaii as well, Miyako is a tropical island daydream that surrounds itself with anything floral, hugged by its turquoise waters and a sea breeze as cool as it is refreshing. And who else to go there with none other than one of Japan’s, or even the world’s coolest people?

Blue bikinis and even bluer waters, the photos from the campaign are as breathtaking as Miyako’s alluring island and as charming as Kiko’s smiles. Floating in the rich waters of Japan in a captivating black ensemble, and walking around the lovely island in a flowy dress, she fills everyone’s hearts with much gusto. To top it all off, a pair of Sunnies completes every look and outfit she’s worn during the whole trip.
There’s just something about going to the beach with everyone’s dream girl, and the team behind this amazing feature was lucky enough to experience it.

Different-tinted wonders in every shape and size you can think of—that’s what the world of Sunnies Studios has in store for everyone in a country like ours where, except for the interruption of rain, less romantic, more apocalyptic nowadays, the sun always shines. In this campaign, they introduce this stylish frame called Jax, a semi-square-ish frame reminiscent of cat-eyed glasses minus the pointed tips, and a shorter height than most. It’s chic, it’s cool, and it comes in a plethora of colors just like the countless times Kiko Mizuhara has graced the covers of 1,001 magazines.
To reiterate Sunnies Studios co-founder Bea Soriano-Dee’s words, “Kiko can mix and match the biggest trends alongside the most enduring classics.”

Echoing what Kiko Mizuhara said from her small interview with the sunglass brand, “All it takes is having the right frame and the right frame of mind.” So really, nothing’s stopping you from taking on the world one day at a time in a pair of Sunnies and with a breath of confidence you and only you can have.
