Agents of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) have arrested a Canadian after she allegedly yielded more than seven kilos of shabu on her arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Thursday, June 29.
The suspect was identified as 64-year old Mary Jane Marais, a holder of a Canadian passport and who arrived at the country at around 1 p.m.
The suspect was collared after an examination of her baggage disclosed illegal drugs with a street value of P48.6 million.
Authorities said the shabu was hidden by wrapping them like chocolate candies.
The arrested suspect and the seized illegal drugs were turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
