26-year-old woman stabbed dead by live-in partner in Mountain Province
PARACELIS, Mountain Province – A 26-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her jealous live-in partner in the early morning of June 26 in Sitio Tangngag, Poblacion here.
The Paracelis Municipal Police Station identified the victim as Clexy Ligligon Ilacad.
The suspect who fled after the incident was identified as Rodante Banguiyao Palangdao, alias “Afer,” 37, and a farmer.
According to the Paracelis MPS, they responded to a call from a concerned citizen that a stabbing incident occurred in the area.
Police said that witnesses told them they heard the live-in partners having a heated argument on the suspect's alleged suspicion that the victim had another man.
Later, the victim's mother heard a cry begging for help.
The mother quickly proceeded to the victim's room and saw the suspect stabbing and hacking the victim.
She shouted to the suspect to stop his assault but the suspect allegedly tried to stab her too.
Relatives rushed the victim to the Paracelis District Hospital but the attending physician, Dr. Presentation Matib, pronounced her dead.
The suspect, together with a relative, went to the Paracelis MPS around 9:49 a.m. the same day and voluntarily surrendered.
