2 drug suspects, 6 illegal gambers arrested in Pasay police ops


Pasay City police arrested two drug suspects and six illegal gamblers during the conduct of “Oplan Galugad” against lawless individuals.

Col. Froilan Uy, city police chief, identified the drug suspects as Eric Baguna, 40, alias “Pingkaw”; and Mansueto Dacales, 42, alias "Chito."

They were arrested at around 2:00 a.m. on Saint Augustine St. in Barangay 178, Maricaban.

Uy said personnel of Sub-Station 7 in Maricaban were conducting “Oplan Galugad” when they spotted the suspects holding and comparing the contents of two pieces of plastic sachets containing suspected shabu.

The suspects were immediately brought and detained at the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) pending the filing of illegal possession of drugs against them.

The city police chief identified those arrested for illegal gambling as Rodel Santiago; Edwin Silva; Ronnie Hernale,37, alias “Ron-Ron”;  Barry Jerome Mendoza, 27, alias “Bajie”; Dale Patrick de Ocampo,51, alias “Bukol”; and Francis Castro, 26, alias “Chokoy”.

Uy said Santiago and Silva, together with three others, were caught playing “cara y cruz” (coin game) by members of Police Sub-Station 1 at Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) Complex at around 7:15 p.m. on Buendia flyover in  Barangay 9, Pasay City on June 27.

The three companions of the suspects were able to elude arrest.

The four other suspects -- Hernale, Mendoza, De Ocampo and Castro -- were arrested for illegal gambling by personnel of Sub-Station 2 at around 6:45 p.m. on Orion St. in Barangay 67, Zone 8, Pasay City.

The city police chief said the suspects were all brought to the police custodial facility.
