Seoul International Drama Awards 2023 announces nominees

The Seoul International Drama Awards 2023, a global drama festival, announced the nominees for the international competition.  The Seoul Drama Awards Organizing Committee finalized a preliminary screening on 344 works from 44 countries and regions submitted to the international competition.  (From left) Bae Suzy, Michael Chiklis and Yifei Liu (Instagram)
As a result, a total 24 series and 30 candidates were selected as nominees.  For TV Movie, the nominees include “Accused: Scott’s Story” (US), “Song of Four Seasons” (Hong Kong) and “Belascoarán PI” (Mexico).  For the Best Actress, the nominees include Korean star Bae Suzy for “Anna,” Chinese actress Yifei Liu, known for the film “Mulan,” for “A Dream of Splendor,” and Anna Schudt for “The Mayoress.”  For Best Actor, some of the nominees are Michael Chiklis, who won best actor at the 55th Primetime Emmy Awards, and French actor Eric Cantona.   The winners of the Seoul International Drama Awards 2023 will be presented at a ceremony on Sept. 21 that will be aired on the Korean channel KBS 2TV.  Besides the international competition, Outstanding Asian Stars from six countries and regions), and more winners will be announced.  In addition to the main ceremony, various side events with celebrities such as Drama Talk Concert, O.S.T Concert and Screening will be held at Banpo Hangang Park from Sept. 20 to 22.  The Seoul International Drama Awards is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Seoul Metropolitan Government, and channels KBS, MBC, SBS, EBS and CBS.
