In just seven months since their debut, members of rookie K-pop girl group Fifty Fifty have sued their own agency to suspend their exclusive contracts.
Fifty Fifty became a sensation through their song “Cupid,” which became viral that resulted in them entering the coveted Billboard 100 chart.
Saena, Aran, Keena and Sio of Fifty Fifty have filed for a temporary injunction against their agency, Attrakt, for violation of their exclusive contract.

Barun Law firm, which is representing the girls, said “The four members applied for a temporary injunction to suspend the exclusive contract through their legal representative in Seoul on June 19. It was filed with the Seoul Central District Court, and the trial is currently underway.”
Attrakt earlier issued a statement accusing Warner Music Korea of trying to poach Fifty Fifty members, which the label denied.
“This is an action taken after the Attrakt side violated the contract and caused the destruction of trust,” the law firm said in a statement sent to Korean media.
It added, “The members did not respond as the trial was in progress. The legal representative pointed out various problems in the past and sent a letter demanding correction, but Attrakt is damaging the members' honor through continuous media reports without trying to explain the requirements, so we have to reveal this statement.”
Barun said that “despite their young age, the four members have tried to think and act independently. After sufficiently discussing with the parents, we came to raise the issue with the help of the legal representative.”
“Nevertheless, while Attrakt was unable to clearly explain the breach of contract, not listening to the members' voices, saying that it was an 'extortion attempt by an external force,' and arbitrarily disclosing the reason for the member's surgery without consulting the parties, the members felt disappointed and frustrated,” it said.
The law firm said “the members raised issues about various circumstances in which Attrakt did not fulfill its contractual obligations, such as the non-transparent settlement of accounts and the unilateral attempt to enforce it despite revealing a health condition that made it difficult for them to be active.”
“We would like to make it clear that this is an independent decision made by the four members in unison without any outside intervention. The members are well aware of how important this time is, and are well aware of the concern of many people around them,” it said.
It added, “When they first started practicing, they were determined to become an artist who could give a good influence. Our four members did not agree or keep quiet about things that were not right. Without falsehood, without external pressure, they made this decision just to go their own way correctly.”
“The four members just want to go back to the fans who support them as soon as possible. Even after that, we promise that we will still be more independent and sincere artists,” it said.
