Mayor Francis warns public of scammers posing as his wife

San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora cautioned the public on Tuesday, June 27, against scammers posing as his wife to ask for donations and load in exchange for under-the-table transactions and illegal fixing of papers in the city hall. "May mga natatanggap po kaming sumbong na mayroong nagpapanggap na siya si Mrs. Keri Zamora, ang butihing asawa ng ating Mayor Francis Zamora, at nag-aalok ng tulong sa pagsasaayos ng mga papeles sa City Hall kapalit ng load o nanghihingi ng donasyon para sa mga proyekto ng Pamahalaang Lungsod. Hindi kailanman ito gagawin ni Mrs. Keri Zamora o ng aming mga opisyal at ng kanilang mga kamag-anak (We have received reports that someone is posing as Keri Zamora, wife of Mayor Francis Zamora, offering under-the-table transactions and illegal fixing of papers in the city hall in exchange for load and donations for the city government's projects. Mrs. Keri Zamora, our officials, and even her family will never do these kinds of things)," Zamora said. He added that the city government doesn't have any projects asking for load or money in exchange for the fixing of documents and distribution of public service to its residents. The mayor urged the public to report these kinds of incidents to the San Juan City Police (0998-598-7884) or the hotline of the city hall (137-135) if ever they received text messages or calls in relation to the scammers. On March 30, Zamora said that he also received reports from netizens that social media accounts using his name are being used to extort money from the public. "Huwag po kayong maniniwala doon at huwag ninyong sasagutin ang kanilang mga private at direct messages (PM/DM) sa inyo dahil hindi po galing sa akin iyon (Please don't be deceived by these impostors and don't reply to their private and direct messages because those did not came from me)," Zamora said. He urged the public to report the fake accounts to his office as well as report and block their accounts in social media sites.
