Man arrested for blackmailing ex-girlfriend with nude photos

CAVITE - A man was arrested in Silang for allegedly blackmailing his ex-girlfriend with her nude photos on Tuesday, June 27. Cavite Police Provincial Office identified the suspect as Raymart B. Guingab, 28. Initial investigation said the suspect was able to save nude photos and videos of the victim during the course of their relationship. The suspect reportedly threatened to release the materials if the victim did not agree to meet with him. Upon receiving the report, joint elements of Cavite Provincial Anti-Cybercrime Response Team, Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 4A, and Silang Municipal Police Station mounted an entrapment operation that led to the arrest of the suspect. Guingab is facing a grave coercion charge in relation to the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, Safe Spaces Act, Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009, and Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004.
