Iloilo City police Drug Enforcement Unit feted for arresting 6 pushers


ILOILO CITY – The Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 awarded the Iloilo City Police Office-City Drug Enforcement Unit (ICPO-CDEU) for the apprehension of six suspected drug pushers here who yielded shabu valued at P1.46 million recently.

PRO-6 Deputy Regional Director Police Brig. Gen. Archival Macala and guest speaker retired Police Major Gen. Lucas Managuelod awarded the Medalya ng Kagalingan to the unit led by Police Lt. Col.  Antonio Benitez Jr.

“I commend the hardworking team of ICPO-CDEU for this high-impact anti-illegal drug accomplishment,” said Police Col. Joeresty Coronica, ICPO director.

“This successful anti-drug operation can be attributed  to the people of Iloilo City who helped ICPO to accomplish its mission to curb the supply of illegal drugs and put drug personalities behind bars,” added Coronica.

The ICPO-CDEU seized 215 grams of shabu on May 31 from four drug pushers considered as high-value individuals – 37-year-old Jeffrey Pamosino, 36-year-old Joel Libuna, 23-year-old Vincent Paul Caturas, and 30-year-old  Philip Esmao.

Police also arrested two street-level drug suspects, 20-year-old Abbie Natinga and Jenelyn dela Peña.
