Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin said Wednesday, June 28, Malacañang had been aware of disbarred lawyer and Presidential Adviser on Poverty Alleviation Larry Gadon’s cases before the Supreme Court (SC), but the President still trusts he will do a good job.
In a statement, Bersamin said President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. “felt” that Gadon’s work as presidential adviser “will not get affected by his status as a lawyer.”
“This is a matter which he will have to personally attend to,” the executive secretary said.
Gadon was unanimously disbarred by the SC for cursing and his profane remarks against journalist Raissa Robles. SC described his action, which was video recorded, as “indisputably scandalous that it discredits the legal profession.”
Nevertheless, Bersamin said Gadon will continue on his new role as there are urgent matters that need to be done in Marcos’ anti-poverty program.
“The President believes he will do a good job,” Bersamin said.
