Anti-poverty czar Larry Gadon on Wednesday, June 28, said he had no regrets for his past "outburst", particularly when he uttered profane remarks against a journalist, which led to his disbarment.
Gadon even justified what he did by saying he was only triggered by supposed lies hurled against their principal candidate, President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., during the campaign period.
Gadon ran but lost under Marcos' UniTeam ticket as senatorial candidate.
"Pati kami naaapektuhan. Alam nyo naman yung mga tao, ang mga Pilipino, napakadaling mapaniwala sa mga paninira (Even we under the ticket were affected. You know Filipinos are easy to believe in lies)," he said in a press conference.
Gadon said he "had to do something to counter it," and still had no regrets about making the remarks as it might have even been his contribution to Marcos' victory.
"Kung yun ang naging contribution ko upang mapatahimik ang mga paninira at kasinungaling, at isa yung sa naging dahilan sa pagkapanalo ni President Bongbong Marcos, then ako ay nagtagumpay. Ako ay masaya (If that's my contribution to silence all the lies, and for the President's victory, then I succeeded. I am happy)," he said.
"Dahil na nanalo si Presidente... ako ay naitalaga bilang secretary ng presidential adviser on poverty alleviation. Tagumpay na rin sakin yun dahil ito ay pagkakataon ko upang maglingkod sa ating kababayan (Since President Marcos won, I was appointed as Presidential Adviser on Poverty Alleviation It's a success for me because I'll have the chance to serve the public)," he added.
