The Roman Catholic Church will commemorate on Thursday, June 29, the joint feast day of the Pillars of the Catholic Church, Saints Peter and Paul, which is traditionally celebrated as Pope’s Day.

Manila Archbishop Jose Cardinal Advincula will lead the feast day mass at 8 a.m. at the Saints Peter and Paul Parish in Poblacion, Makati City.
Holy masses will also be offered at 6 a.m. and at 6 p.m. A solemn procession follows the 8 a.m. mass.
Novena masses in honor of the Virgen de la Rosa de Makati and Saints Peter and Paul were offered from June 20 to 28
On June 30, Friday, the parish will celebrate the feast of Virgen de la Rosa de Makati with holy masses at 6 a.m. and at 6 p.m.
Parish priest Rev. Fr. Genaro O. Diwa will celebrate the fiesta mass at 8 a.m.
A procession of the Virgen de la Rosa de Makati will be held at 9 a.m. and of its three patron saints at 7 p.m.
Church rites today will include prayers for the intentions of the Holy Father Pope Francis.
“The observance of Pope’s Day in celebration of the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul seeks to intensify the faithful’s understanding of the Church’s teachings and to have full appreciation of the spiritual leadership of the Catholic Church’s leader and Vicar of Christ,” Church officials said.
Saint Peter was the first Supreme Pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church, while Saint Paul is considered to this day as the greatest missionary of all time.
Meanwhile, the faithful are invited to visit the exhibit of some memorabilia of three Pontiffs who have visited the Philippines namely Pope Paul VI, Pope John Paul II and Pope Francis at the Manila Cathedral in Intramuros, Manila.
Papal Nuncio Archbishop Charles John Brown and Cardinal Advincula will lead the opening of the exhibit on Thursday, June 29, to coincide with the observance of Pope’s Day.
The blessing of the exhibit will be at 5:30 p.m. to be followed by a holy mass to be presided by Archbishop Brown.
