The Bolts gunner caught fire anew as they dominated the Tropang Giga with a 108-90 victory in the PBA on Tour on Wednesday, June 28, at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Maliksi erupted for 28 points built on five three-point connections as the Bolts blitzed the Tropang Giga with a furious 14-3 run in the final frame to hike Meralco’s record to 4-2 all while keeping TNT winless through four games.

Bong Quinto provided the support to Maliksi with 19 points and 10 rebounds while Cliff Hodge and Raymar Jose also held the fort inside the paint for the Bolts with their own double-double performances.

Hodge finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds while Jose had 10 and 12. Franky Johnson and Raymond Almazan also added 13 points apiece.

TNT, which was looking to barge into the win column on the same night it retired the number of one of its most loyal soldiers in Carey during the halftime break, remained within striking distance early in the final frame, 89-80.

The Bolts though had other plans in mind and spoiled the party with the telling fourth quarter outburst which built them a comfortable 103-83 lead – a disadvantage which proved already too much to overcome for the still shorthanded Tropang Giga.

Glenn Khobuntin, as usual, led the way for TNT with 28 points. Although he got ample contributions from Carl Bryan Cruz, Jaydee Tungcab and Matt Ganuelas-Rosser who all chipped in 15 points apiece, the efforts proved to be futile in the end as the Tropang Giga simply couldn’t find an answer to the Bolts pivotal run.
