TACLOBAN CITY – The Department of Trade and Industry-Leyte reported sales of P3.2 million from the five-day Fiesta Bonanza Trade Expo 2023 from June 23 to 27 at the Robinsons Marasbaras here.
Sales in the event held in time for the city's annual fiesta exceeded its target of P2.5 million with furniture items getting the most revenue.
The trade expo spearheaded by the DTI-Leyte was launched under "Layag Leyte," the provincial brand for marketing events such as trade fairs, market matching, and buying missions.
Sarwell Meniano, a journalist who ventured into cacao farming and tablea production, thanked the DTI-Leyte for the opportunity to introduce their products to mall-goers for free, especially for a first-time exhibitor like him.
"I got to know other local producers in Leyte and learn from them on how they market their products. Small trade fairs like this prepare us for bigger marketing events in the future," Mariano said.
Fifty-seven exhibitors joined the trade expo as they pursue wider access to the market and move forward to economic sustainability.
