Actress Sylvia Sanchez, the mother of Rep. Arjo Atayde, is one picture of a proud and happy mom as she uploaded some photos taken during the 'pamamanhikan' of the  Ataydes at the home of bride-to-be actress Maine Mendoza last Sunday.

Earlier, Sylvia shared a clip of her family's "pamamanhikan" at the home of Maine, future bride of Arjo.

The snaps were taken in Maine's garage, where members of the two families gathered to pose for photos. It was captioned: "The Ataydes and Mendozas will soon merge as one family." Sylvia also used the hashtags #family #happiness #thankuLORD.

Messages of congratulations continued to pour in for sweethearts Arjo and Maine. Some comments:

The "pamamanhikan," which means to climb or ascend, is a traditional Filipino practice where the man, accompanied by his parents, formally asks the bride's family for approval.

Maine and Arjo got engaged on July 29, 2022.
