National record holder Robyn Brown spearheaded the squad with a golden performance in the women’s 400-meter hurdles, timing 57.49 seconds to beat Kaila Barber (57.95sec) and Marie-Frederique Poulin (58.51sec).

Umajesty Williams also shone in the men’s 400m with a silver finish after clocking 46.07sec behind eventual gold medalist Michael Roth, who posted 46.07sec.

Six-time Southeast Asian Games champion Eric Cray also took home the bronze in the men’s 400m hurdles with 49.88sec, settling behind gold winner Roxroy Cato (49.55sec) and silver medalist Shakeem Hall Smoth (49.69sec).

Also making a podium finish was William Morrison, who bagged the shotput bronze with a heave of 17.85m behind Mark Bujnowski (19.26m) and Joseph Maxwell (18.73m).

The four Filipino bets are part of the 23-player squad that will compete in the 2023 Asian Athletics Championships from July 12 to 16 in Pattaya, Thailand, which serves as one of the avenues to hit the qualifying standards for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
