The Presidential Order primarily mandates the realignment of government efforts toward trade and promotion and tourism development, likewise to tap the country’s resources toward an accelerated socio-economic development of the Philippines. In his speech, the President recognized the contribution of the Tourism department in the country in the past five decades. "Over the years, the Department of Tourism has institutionalized an industry that became a driver of economic growth and shaped our global trademark," Marcos said.
