BACOLOD CITY – A 41-year-old farmer was allegedly gunned down by his brother-in-law during a drinking session in Purok Paghidaet 2, Barangay Tampalon, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental on Tuesday, June 27.
Police identified the victim as Glenn Panganiban, 41.
Police Capt. Thurslie Castillo, deputy chief of the Kabankalan City Police Station, said the victim was allegedly provoking his brother-in-law Glenn Sedayon, 40.
A heated argument ensued between them during which the suspect drew a firearm and shot the victim in the leg.
The victim was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.
Castillo said they are initially looking at drunkenness or misunderstanding as possible motives of the incident.
He said that Sedayon is still at large.
